What does it cost?
Sellee is free. Buyers pay a protection fee of 5% + 70c at checkout. The buyer’s fee goes towards helping us provide this service.
Who pays the protection fee?
The buyer does. It is 5% + 70c, added to their checkout total. It does not come out of your proceeds. That fee is what pays for escrow, for handling a dispute if there is one, and for releasing the money once the buyer confirms they have the item.
Is this an app?
No. There is nothing to download, no form to fill in, and no password to keep. You text a number and the conversation is the whole interface. Your phone number is your account.
What if it doesn’t sell?
Nothing is owed: there is no listing fee, no subscription and nothing to cancel. The item stays listed until it sells, or until you tell Sellee to take it down.
Who talks to buyers?
Sellee does. It answers questions and negotiates for you. It never goes below the lowest price you set. It brings you anything it will not decide alone.
How do I get paid?
Proceeds land in your carousell.ai wallet once the buyer has the item. To withdraw, you do a one-time Stripe onboarding. Sellee sends you the onboarding link. Once onboarded, you can withdraw whenever you like.
Can I run it myself?
Yes. Sellee Local is the same agent, free and open source, running on your own machine and your own marketplace accounts.
